I never thought I’d live through such a scenario! This page of history has lead us to face a new reality, one that is hitting the restaurant world hard.

In order to deal with this situation, many restaurateurs have reacted by developing a new form of organization and products. For example, many of my clients have adjusted by offering take-out orders and even boxed meals including their microbrewery beers.

As an active member of social media, I have noticed the importance of theses channels for restaurateurs during lockdown. It has allowed them to keep a close relationship with their customers and maintain their visibility. The majority shared their new menus, the ability to pre-order and the new guidelines to follow at reopening.

Recently, I’ve resumed physical meetings with clients, while respecting social distancing measures. I’ve seen the challenge for some of them to comply with the new guidelines. I was amazed to see that the clients were there! On a few occasions, I found that restaurants were already full at the beginning of the lunch hour and that customers agreed to wait outside until a table became available.

Although I have the feeling that we are not at the end of this crisis, I remain optimistic and I will continue to adapt to this situation.
